Perry Angus strives to use selected AI genetics to produce functional Angus cattle that will perform in real life conditions. Mating decisions are made to produce cattle with low to moderate birth weight while maintaining and improving performance traits such as weaning and yearling weights. You can see from our sire selection that carcass traits are very important in our program. Cows need to milk and produce calves that approach or exceed 50% of the cow’s weight at weaning. We strive to produce cattle whose milk EPD’s exceed breed average. We make serious efforts to address the concern of structural correctness.

We recognize longevity as a very important trait and feel that structural issues that could affect longevity and performance have no place in breeding programs.

In addition to basic measurements made at birth, weaning, yearling and cow weights at weaning time, we strive to ultrasound all females that go back into the herd.

Our Values

FIRST THINGS FIRST

Our greatest blessing is our relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We have also been blessed with a beautiful family, and thank God every day for each and every one of our family members. Our goal is to glorify God in our personal and business relationships.

LAND STEWARDSHIP AND ANIMAL WELFARE

God has given us an awesome responsibility as caretakers of the land and animals. We take that seriously and work continuously to protect and improve the land and water that support our cattle farm. We have invested in cross fencing and watering systems that allow us to use rotational grazing to more efficiently manage our forage program. Our cattle are managed by Beef Quality Assurance guidelines (BQA).
